What better “holiday” to run with a theme than Halloween?! At our church, we celebrate this time of year with a fall festival, including trunk or treating for the kiddos. My husband and I were in the process of adopting our daughter and decided to go with a “beekeeper” theme – apropos, huh?

And, of course, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration! These are the original pins that got the juices flowing: http://www.livingly.com/Fantastic+Family+Halloween+Costumes/articles/Ufd88toQhWD/Bees+trap+trap+Bees+trap  along with http://www.ldsliving.com/50-Trunk-or-Treat-Decorating-Ideas-You-Wish-You-Had-Time-For/s/77013?page=4#story-content.

Even though we didn’t take home the trophy, here’s what we ended up with:

And didn’t she look cute as a bee?

We found the beekeeper outfits (they are actually real!) on Amazon and the adorable girl’s bee costume from Partycity.com. I found the basket which I kept the candy in –  doesn’t it remind you of a beehive? I thought so, too! The candy, of course, is Bit o Honey!

What should we do for the next Trunk or Treat?
